About Us

Founded in January 1998, Abirochas is the national representative entity of the ornamental stone industry. All companies established in the Brazilian territory, with predominant activities related to ornamental rocks, are permanent members of ABIROCHAS. All unions and associations representing these companies are their natural members.
Abirochas was one of the first Brazilian organizations accredited to participate in export promotion programs developed by Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). The first Apex-Brasil / ABIROCHAS agreement was signed in 1999 when Brazilian exports of ornamental stones totaled US $ 200 million, and only 50% of this total was related to processed products. In 2017, Brazilian exports of ornamental stones reached US $ 1.1 billion, with 80% of revenues referring to finished and semi-finished products with higher added value.
